About Me

Hi, I’m Aysha!

I’ve been on the carnivore diet since May 2023, trying to recover from a ton of health issues. I’m learning loads along the way and started this blog to document my learnings and hopefully help others who may be as stuck as I was.

Here’s a little of my journey so far…

My Health Conditions as of May 2023:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Chronic Insomnia
  • Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Mild Eczema
  • Severe allergy to an unknown an insect
  • 65lbs overweight
  • Perimenopause
  • Severely painful and heavy periods
  • Generalized joint pain
  • Osteoporosis in the neck and lower back
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Gall stones

With these only being a handful of what I had been diagnosed with, my biggest concern was that my fibromyalgia and CFS had become so severe, that I had been left housebound and in extreme pain 90%+ of the time, and this had been happening since 2020.

3 years of being almost bed ridden takes its toll…

I’d gone from being an active, busy mother, housewife and business owner who enjoyed cycling, socializing, yoga, weight training and baking, to being completely housebound, having to depend on my husband and teenage boys to take care of me completely.

Getting to the bathroom and back became the most I could do on most days. I’d lost my independence, and all the things I used to do for fun and relaxation were no longer possible, and I slowly started to lose who I was.

The doctors had told me to ‘adjust my life expectations’ and implied that it would only be downhill from here, and I couldn’t see any way out.

I scoured the internet and searched for someone, anyone, who had found their way out of ‘chronic illnesses’ like fibromyalgia, and came across a couple of potential answers:

  1. Brain re-training (you can read more about this here)
  2. The carnivore diet

I’d discovered after hours of listening to, watching, and reading about people’s recovery stories that it was possible. And that was all I needed. A possibility. A glimmer of hope that changed my potential future from downhill health to a road to recovery.

Am I fully recovered? Absolutely not. Am I feeling better than I have felt in a long time? Yes! Have I learned a hell of a lot about how the mind and body works? Definitely!
